Besides the documents for an F4, what other paperwork will I need? Do we need to get the same stuff that E2's do? I know we dont need these for the visa but will schools require these?

criminal background check
Do I need to get these notarized & apostilled?

I would have to special order & request another copy of my degree since I don't know where it is. The criminal check seems confusing as well.

Well it would depend on the school. Sometimes they'll ask for transcripts But they'll usually ask to see your degree. Personally I've never had to do a criminal background check, but i've only worked a couple of full time jobs. I was required to do a health check once when I did an after-school program.
I've never notarized or apostilled anything before, i'm not even sure how to go about doing that.

A couple times I was asked to sign forms for a domestic criminal background check (within korea).

I started at my hagwon about a month ago, and I was told that I needed to submit a notarized copy of my diploma because the laws had changed for F4 visa holders. I didn't need to submit copies of my transcript, though.

As for the criminal background check, it depends on your school. Some places will require and other places won't care.

Getting something notarized and apostilled is a way to show it's a genuine document. It's actually 2 things, first the notary and then the apostille. I'm not so sure about the process either but it's most often done before getting to korea.

Wow, it looks like laws are changing for everyone. I've been reading here that changes will take effect starting January.

From what I know, the laws for F4 visa holders have already changed. However, I have also been told that it depends on the location of your school/hagwon, since you'll have to be registered your local ministry of education, and they often have different requirements.
