|
|
My contract actually finishes in late June (25th) but we have a few weeks holiday before that (uni'). Of course they won't give the bonus till the end of the month (28th). I plan to go to Singapore for a few weeks. So, can I hand my ARC card in at the airport (12th June), with no problems? When I return (for a few days) to tie up a few loose ends & empty my bank account - I'll get just a stamp on the way back in and leave a few days later. Would it raise any eyebrows to hand my ARC card in early? - Otherwise I have to hang around & get a visa extension just for a few days (extend from 25th to about 30th) - to actually get my bonus (it's paid into the bank). They won't give me the bonus (4 years worth) before the end of June (red tape so they say...).
So the plan is to leave on the 12th (hand in ARC card), and return a couple weeks later (for a few days) with just a stamp on arrival. Seems crazy to hang around for a couple weeks twiddling the ol' thumbs when I could be lying on a beach somewhere.
Is this a feasible idea?
Thanks... |

you won't have any problems at immigration. however I wiouldn't hand in the arc card and get the extentsion. Considering you have four years of severence it it's a spit in the bucket. |

Alvin, I don't know if you've ever been to Singapore before, but I can tell you it ain't the place in S. E. Asia to be lying on a beach! |

I would also suggest you get an extension rather than turn in your ARC early. With all of that dealing with the banks and bank transfers, you might need it.
Also, what are you going to do in Singapore for a few weeks? It's a nice town for a few days, but a few weeks? Do you know people there? |

Yes, I've a few old friends there plus I've been there before. Off to Thailand to settle down after that (spent 10 years there before Korea): house, car, marriage etc. The full monty!
Decided to extend my ARC card, as you mention. May give Singapore a miss and hang around Korea for a few weeks tying up loose ends... |

"the Full Monty" Isn't that where you expose your genital to another person?
Anyway, where do you live in Thai? I am the same as you ...
