I was able to buy a round trip back to the US on Delta for only 50 dollars. That was with the points I had accumulated from 2 roundtrip tickets back home after I signed up for their credit card.
I also got 2 - 50 dollar gift cards with the miles from just one trip home on United.
I was curious if other people had had much success with bonus point reward tickets programs. |

I think they all expire now.
Skypass (Skyteam Alliance) used to be eternal but they changed about 2 years ago.
Same with Star Alliance (Asiana).
I have redeemed miles from both the above for "free" tickets as well as multiple upgrades (nice to fly transpacific in first class with the clam-shell).

| I think you have to have some activity on your account at least once every two years. That could be just a quick survey or point related purchase. I know most people don't keep track, but I just saved a thousand dollars. |

I dumped airline specific reward programs and got a credit card that accumulates points faster while being able to use these points on any damn airline I want.
We are able to get a free round trip ticket from Canada to Korea (or the other way before this) every year and a half. |

| I've accumulated points on my ANA card from ANA and Star Alliance flights and I've used them for flight vouchers and 2 return trips SK-Japan. Tried booking something with my Delta points but can"t get the dates to work. |
