I'm having some issues. My USB ports and my PS/2 ports seem to randomly shut down. I have to keep unplugging and re-plugging in my devices so that they will work.

This happens relatively randomly and every now and then I hear the sound that says a device has been unplugged or plugged in. I often have no idea what device it is (unless of course I'm using it at that moment).

The worst is my ext hard drive. It used to shut down sometimes, but now it shuts down all the time. I can open the drive and look through the files but as soon as I attempt to use a file (usually MP3s) the drive will shut down and start up again.

Any ideas?

This computer sounds old. Get a new one. You can do so very cheaply if you're not looking for anything special and already have a monitor.
