I have been making the same four or five meals in rotation for awhile now. I am looking for something new to cook. Please share your favorite meals/dishes you cook for yourself at home, dinners with no meat or seafood would be greatly appreciated!

yes, I could google it. But i believe there are many original recipes out there that can't be searched on the internet. I know some of the food I make myself, I made up by using the foods I like. Understand?

ok heres one super easy one...my current favourite - takes about 20 mins from start to finish - good when in a hurry

Cashews veg and tofu stir fry with Teriyaki Sauce

half onion sliced
half medium yellow paprika sliced
half medium red paprika sliced
chunk courgette/zucchini sliced
a few florets of broccoli
one gochu - small green spicy pepper - deseed + chopped quite fine
small handful of cashews
Tofu (firm - important to press out water until much drier) - little blocks
3 cloves garlic crushed and chopped
generous splash teriyaki
splash of oil
multi grain or brown rice
pepper

prepare all ingredients and mix into a bowl (except rice and teriaki)- start drying tofu first so it is ready when everything else chopped - throw all into a wok with hot oil and stirfry on quite high heat for a few minutes - the veg should remain slightly crunch fresh - don't over cook - the tofu should start to golden a bit..after maybe 3-4 mins add teryaki and turn off heat - mix for next 30 seconds - grind in a little pepper too - add onto rice.. sorted. easy, healthy and tasty.

Tip: freeze small bag portions of cooked rice from my rice cooker at the weekend so you can microwave them for speed in the week.

Not really mm, with that above statement you basically just asked people to guess what you would like.

100 people give you a recipe, you dont like any of them, but if you mentioned the type of foods you did like, e.g. chicken, mushrooms, etc then they could offer recipes using those ingredients that they know.

I like meat, many people don't, so all my recipes include meat. For myself, I love to eat and I like cooking, so I google stuff all the time. There are tons of recipes online with the ingredients I like.

For example, I bought oyster sauce the other day, never used it much, but 1 recipe needed it, so now I google recipes using oyster sauce, so that I wont waste the bottle and I am learning new recipes I never considered before.

Though my type of cooking tends to run to experimentation a lot. I read a recipe, throw in a few extras or leave a few out and see how it goes.

Though returning to my original point, unless people know what you like, there isn't much point wasting thier time sending you recipes. Unless your reason is to steal ideas for a recipe book you are working on.

I am not writing a recipe book. I am simply wondering what other people are cooking in their homes. I love food and I am curious to know what people in Korea are making. This is a discussion board for topics, right? People like to share what movies they have seen, what books they are reading etc. Why not share what they are cooking? And the topic is not specifically for me, it can be useful to anyone who wants to cook something new. Do you suggest that everyone googles preference questions? If they are not interested in the topic then ignore it. Simple. The time you took to write out your last post you could have written down a simple recipe or if disinterested in the topic at least searched for a subject you are interested in.

And the statement you quoted is not saying that people should guess to the food I like but rather they should also write down their original recipes.

Thanks! I am going to try it this week, I haven't really cooked with teriyaki sauce so it will be something new for me.

I made this: http://www.waitrose.com/recipe/Creamy_Chicken_Hotpot.aspx
the other night and it was delicious! I didn't add the barley and used a carrot and a courgette instead of the squash. I only used half the Philadelphia.

Although not a recipe, this is a very helpful ingredient for many recipes, chicken stock (not chicken broth)

Everytime you eat chicken save the sizable bones in a zip-lock bag in your freezer.

After they build up (the more the better) throw them in a large pot along with whole vegetables. Onions, carrots, garlic, basically anything you have. It's a good way to clean out your fridge with stuff that will go bad soon. No need for cutting, just throw it in whole.

Boil it down to almost nothing, then add more water, and boil it down again. This should take several hours, so a rainy Sunday is a good time to do it.

After it is boiled down to an inch or 2, strain everything out leaving just a small bowl of stock.

Then pour the stock into ice-cube trays and freeze.

Anytime a recipe calls for stock, just use as many cubes as needed. Each cube should be pretty strong.

I add these to almsot everything I make. It also really improves the taste of instant gravy mixes and the like.

Veggie burger
1.5 cups of cooked red or black beans
1/4 cup of whole wheat flour
salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp red flakes
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tsp crushed garlic
2 tbsp ketchup
2tsp olive oil
1. Mash the ingredients together till the consistency is similar to hummus.
(not all the beans need to crushed, some can be left whole).
2. Form 4 patties and cook in a frying pan that is lightly oiled.

Spinach dip
2 bunches of spinach
1 small onion diced
2 tsp crushed garlic
2 tsp pepper
2 tsp red pepper flake
1 container cream cheese
Cook everything except the spinach. Let it cool in the fridge. Once it is cool, add cream cheese and mix well. Serve with vegetables and a baguette.

garam masala veggie mix
1 cup of cooked white beans (or chickpeas if you have them)
2 large ripe tomatoes
1 large onion
2 tsp garlic
salt and pepper to taste
2-3 tsp garam masala
1 tsp olive oil

Caramelize the onions.
Next, add the onions and garlic.
When everything is cooked add the beans and flavoring.
Serve over brown rice.
