I know a visit to Mongolia should at the very least be over 2 weeks, but I'm curious.
I've heard Ulaanbaatar isn't all terribly interesting and a day is about all you need around the city (but maybe I heard wrong) . However, if this is true. How easy would it be to jump out of town on 3 day excursion to see some of the surrounding countryside?
I'd be down with a short trek or even horse/camel-back treks. I've read up a bit online and in a few travel books, but I'd rather hear some more first hand experience.
Anyone done anything similar? Or any other worldly advice/tips/suggestions?
Thanks guys. |

Hotels, or just walk around the city (its fairly small) and see all the travel shops that you can book a 2 or 3 day trip just outside the city. I went on one for horse-riding and saw a wrestling match, throat-singing and the breaking in of some horses (lasso and all) in just three days.
Go with the best deal. |
