As the title says, I just moved to Busan last night. I am excited about this venture, but it feels easy to get overwhelmed since I dont know the language or anyone here. I'm hoping to make some friends and get out there to experience what Korea has to offer. I'm not a partier type so the club scene doesn't really interest me and that limits me meeting potential friends (though a drink with friends can be nice). I can be kind of introverted, so I love interacting with people in small groups. I hope to get to see the cultureal sites, looking into visiting the acquarium they have here. Umm hobbies are playing piano (need to figure out how to ship my keyboard over here), bookworm, gamer girl (made me laugh when I saw an entire channel devoted to starcraft/tekken here), hiking, and running too.
my aim is micechasekittens
my yahoo is cerealnmuffin
I am typing this from a hotel, I will get my apt in a couple days. |

I'm not near Busan, but the aquarium is pretty nice. You'll have to be a little bit extroverted to meet a few friends, but once you have a few, more will come. Enjoy your time in Korea! |

Welcome to Korea!
I'm not near Busan either, I'm in Gwangju (about 3-4 hours away) but hope to get to Busan one of these days.
Are there other foreign teachers at your school? If so, that can be a good place to start with meeting people. There may be a facebook page for foreigners in the Busan area.
There's also Central Korea Hiking and Travel Group http://www.meetup.com/CentralKoreaHiking/ and Adventure Korea http://www.adventurekorea.com/ that have events all over the place.
I hope you get moved into your apartment and settled soon, and that you enjoy your time here! If you have questions please ask. |

Go to a Language class (Korean, French, Spanish etc). You'll learn a language and meet new people too. I'm sure a city the size of Busan must have language hogwons for adults such as yourself. |
