hi
I have a korean wii thats been hard modded.
It usually works fine. (playing back ups from disc or from USB hard drive)
however, I've been getting a few errors with some games recently and one that looked into with the problem "can't open big file"
people on the net said I need to update the USB loader.
the problem is, everything is in Korean. I don't know how to add homebrew channels, et cetera. I've just been using whatever was put on there by the korean guy that modded it.
Any ideas how I can add channels? and update the loader?
thanks |

Find someone that reads Korean? I'm guessing that can't be too hard seeing as you are living in Korea. |

Good advise! I'll ask one of my co teachers to come to my house and walk me through how to update my hacked wii and how to add an updated USB loader/home brew channel. Shouldn't be a problem considering my co teacher A speaks perfect English and B is really into Wii homebrewing...
sarcasm is hard to convey on here.
basically, thanks for a stupid advice |

You don't have any Korean friends that can come over and help? Bribe em with a beer or something. Either you just got here or you need to broaden your friends spectrum.
You also could try typing the instructions into Google Translate, it isn't perfect but should be decent enough for you to update it on your own. |

Does anyone with actual knowledge or insight into modded wiis have any useful advice?
otherwise I guess I'll have to be hitting the hofs this weekend hoping to make a Korean friend that can come into my house and apparently update my hardmodded wii's homebrew software. |

I am guessing you are wanting to play Just Dance 2?
What program do you use to play your games?
WiiFlow, CFG USB Loader, etc.
Do you have the homebrew channel?
You can update the channel by going into the program and clicking options and there should be the option to update. |

Take it to Yongsan since you don't read Korean or have any Korean friends able to come work on it...There isn't much else you can do at this point. |

His Cios/Ios are probably out of date and just need to be updated to the new ones. If he has the homebrew channel he can do all of the updates by himself.
www.wiihacks.com is a great site to research how to do things. I softmodded my Korean Wii and then changed it to an exact copy of a Wii you would get in the U.S. (English menus/channels) from that site.
What system are you running? 3.1 most likely (Koreans like that one). You can update it to 4.1 (and change it to English if you wanted). You don't need to but it will basically full-proof your Wii from bricking. You can block Wii updates, etc and all of the games work with the updated ios.
Here is the guide you need to update everything. Find where you are in the tutorial and go from there although I would recommend starting at the beginning.

Let me know if you need help with the Korean. If you can read it, you just need to sound out the words and they are most likely just English words written in Korean. |
