Can I find the equivalent type of shirt in Korea? What are the sizes like? I have a 41 inch chest but a 30 inch waist so regular shirts are either too small in the chest or too big in the waist. Any other athletic guys solve this problem in Korea?

You'll probably have a rough time finding what you're looking for in your size. Slim-fit and Athletic-fit is easy to find in Korea, but sizes are smaller. I wear a medium to a large shirt in the US and I found that SOMETIMES I could squeeze into a Korean XL. Generally Korean size 105 or 110 is the upper limit.

Are you currently in the Boston area?

Yeah I am in Boston. I asked because I was wondering if I should stock up here or if I would be able to buy what I need there.

Stock up here. You can get tailored shirts in Korea but a good quality shirt won't exactly be cheap.

You can get good quality tailored shirts for between 35-55,000 won (Price depends on fabric). You can also get it cut in any style you want (cut, sleeves, collar)

Right. I don't really consider that "cheap"...especially considering that the shirts at the lower end of the price range will get you fabric that breathes about as well as a rubber rain suit. However, if you don't mind paying a minimum of 50,000원 then, yes, getting a great-fitting shirt is easily doable in Korea.

I'm about the same 44 chest 32 waist and it is really difficult to find shirts here. XL (105) will fit, but the arms look like they were made for a small child. Or, they will look like they were made for a man with a 38-40 inch waist.

On the tailor made clothes, I have had hit or miss luck. A few shirts I had made were done excellently and a few others really sucked.

Bring them from home.

On a side note, jeans are far worse to try and find here if you have big thighs from squats or other exercises.

My husband wears Tommy Hilfiger Slim Fit shirts. Stock up before you get here because they are over $100 each here in Korea.

Looks like I will be heading to Marshalls and TJMaxx to stock up before I leave. I hate wearing shirts that fit in the chest but look like muscle shirts because of the tiny sleeves. Maybe I will get lucky and Rain will give me some hand-me-downs.
