|
|
Hello,
I have 1 of my recommendation letter writers chosen for EPIK. He is supposed to write it on microsoft word, then send it in attatchment form to me, and I'm supposed to email it. And then he is supposed to print out a hard copy, sign it, and I am supposed to mail it in. Is this what has to happen? The first sentence of these EPIK guidelines is kind of confusing. |

1) send it in attatchment form to me
---------> Why?
2) I'm supposed to email it.
<-------------to whom?
(I don't get the above part)
3) And then he is supposed to print out a hard copy, sign it
(Why doesn't he just sign it to begin with when he does number 1?)
4) I am supposed to mail it in.
The way I did it was have the person mail it to the recruiter or school. Keep it like a triangle. You never get it.
However, maybe EPIK's rules are different. |

He wants proof, and time and date, that you read it. He's saving the e-mail confirmation. |

I'm sorry that I hadn't provided a link, but check the 5th point down (after clicking "application", and then clicking "required documents"). That is some pretty confusing wording. |

Applicants are required to submit the original hard copies of both letters of recommendation written by a professional acquaintance (e.g., supervisor, professor, director) that were submitted electronically with the initial application. |
I don't really see how this is causing you confusion. You are going to initially attach the LoRs in a digital format (.pdf, .doc, etc.) to your electronic application. Afterward, you will mail the hard copies to EPIK or your recruiter. |

1. Arrange for a letter of reference. Get the signed original. While you are at it get more than one signed original, perhaps several, for possible future use.
2. Once you have a signed original, then scan it, generating a computer file.
3. email the scan (computer file) to whomever needs to have it. They want to see that you in fact have the document, with signature, in your possession before going any further in the process.
4. You still have the original for submission when you need to do that. Keep copies or the computer file, in case. |
