Volunteering time in South East Asia seems like a worthwhile endeavor. But practically, wouldn't it be better to get a job back home and donate a share of the money you earn?
Then, they could pay a local to do your work and still have money leftover.
(it's less exciting to donate money than time, I guess) |

With money, you can never be sure just exactly how much of it is going to the cause, and not into the overhead costs of an organization. |

If you are here in Korea, volunteering your time would be a good thing. If you are on an E-2 though be very careful though. You need to get permission to do volunteer work. |
