3 of my friends have it as well. It's not terrible, but I've had a mild headache for a few days, as well as muscle ache and congestion.
Is it just Incheon? |

Never had a summer cold in my life. What a strange thing! I have noticed my students sometimes come in sick in July and August and I'm puzzled as heck by it. |

Yes, I caught it about 9 days ago and just about over it now. It wasn't nearly as bad as the crud going around last March and April. |

I just confirmed that a friend on the East coast has the same cold.
I went to the doctor yesterday evening to have it checked out, and he gave me a 3-day supply of tylenol and a muscle relaxant. Um... Thanks? |

Not enough vitamin D and fat (many nutrients are soluble only in fat (vitamin D isn't a vitamin)). |

I had it too, this past week. But it was nothing a little tequila couldn't fix. |

I take a D supplement and eat a lot of avocado, nuts, seeds, dairy, and fish, so it isn't that. I also try to get a little sunlight (except the face!) daily. |

I'm recovering from a virus right now. It started last Sunday with fatigue, loss of appetite, and body aches, by Monday I had a temperature that mostly stayed around 99-100 degrees Fahrenheit (about 38 C), and by Wednesday I was coughing and my fever was occasionally hitting 101-102 F. I'm feeling better now except for that lingering cough! |

Too much AC isn't good for the body (chills/ respiration)
The nights have been getting much cooler, so there has been a need to keep the blankey close
NYC Gal, you don't need avocado, nuts, seeds, dairy, or fish. Drink more water and eat citrus. |

You don't get a cold from being cold.

As I mentioned before, vitamin D is likely to be fat soluble. I don't see how your advice is any better than what NYC stated. At least she is getting a little fat from those things, even if she could be easily getting more and better from butter meat etc.
I think I remember NYC mentioning that she drinks 7 liters of water a day (maybe she meant glasses). There is scant evidence that water has any effect on health (outside of keeping you alive obviously), even the 7 glasses a day canard has no grounding in science. It is believed to have been started by Readers' Digest, who pulled it out of their ass. |

I drink at least 2L a day of water, not to mention the jujube tea I've recently fallen in love with. I've got a huge bowl of mandarin oranges in my fridge, and have at least 4 a day (unless I have juice at work).
I've had my AC off and have been trying to sweat it out under a thick blanket in jammies. I hope it's gone by Monday |

7L? If I ever said such a thing it was definitely a typo!!! It's usually 2L, but that's because I get headaches when dehydrated. There are days when I only get 1L, but I try to drink a pitcher a day. Stats or not, I feel better when I drink more water.
Did I also mention dairy? Cheeeeeese is tasty. I don't love the taste of butter, but I've always got a few different blocks of cheese in the fridge.
As for the AC: you're right--that's tosh. Chills respiration? I LOVE the AC. The only reason I've got it off right now is because I'm trying to sweat out the illness. |

Thanks, Dr. Rothbard.
Please post your articles from the Journal of the American Medical Association where it states you don't drink water or eat citrus to reverse the effects from a cold.
I did mention that AC isn't good for respiration, didn't I? Hey- its just my opinion
Anyway, feel better NYCGal |

I don't keep the AC on full blast. It's just enough to keep the humidity down. At the moment I'm under a heavy blanket and sipping tea. I've got another ill friend over for a sleepover. I'm hoping to feel better by tomorrow for a 3-hour camp thing I signed up for.
Thanks again, ThingsComeAround! |
