Jeez interviews for semi rural ps jobs and Suwon haggies don't even materialise for me this year! The recruiters say they'll 'strongly recommend' me and forward my resume to the employer etc and what time am I available for an interview etc, and then I never hear back from them.

God, things have changed dramatically. These were the kid of jobs I'd have tens of offers for and be turning down up until last year! I have TEFL and 6 years experience....

Man. I'm going to have to loosen up my terms and start saying I'm open to rural gigs. I've already turned down the recruiter who has all the public school gigs in Yangsan (sp?)(next to busan,) Masan and Gyeonsanamdo...

Better get to editing that part of my resume on the job boards where it says 'Seoul or Gyeonggi Do only.'

The times they are a changing Bob, old Bob, ah yes they are...!

The crash hasn't even started yet! Wait until December it'll be worse than it was it was in December 1997. I was around when it happened, it was a long cold winter in 1998, 2011 will be worse! In 1997, Asia went down. In 2010, everyone's economy is going down!

Hey buddy, the crash of 1997 occured in late October - early November...but whose counting. Laughing

By the way EPIK Teacher, if 'everyone' is going down, why are you still here?

You should be heading for economic high ground Nostradamus. Laughing

Umm...Homer, if 'everyone' is going down then that means there is no 'economic high ground'.

Your apologia is trending towards goofy.

In August, the won had sunk from below 800 the year before to 1000. And by December, the won was just south of 2000, genius! And by this December it will be similar. By the way, I'm leaving at the end of my contract.

Oh do you mean the one who wants us to send all of our documents, including the CRC to her, before she will send a contract and Notice of Appointment?

Of course, she doesn't tell anyone that until well into the process.

Extreme caution is advised with that recruiter.

Something is seriously wrong with a recruiter demanding to have your actual CRC (not a scanned copy) before issuing a contract and NOA. They don't need that. Only the consulate needs to have that.

Good for you for turning that crap down.
