|
|
My employer terminated my contract and wants me to leave within a week. The problem is I don't have a notorized copy of my degree yet, so basically the letter of release doesn't mean anything because I cannot transfer it to a hogwon because I work at a private school. So my plan is to leave the country wait for my norotorized copy of my degree to return then find a new position.
However, in order for my school to cancel my visa the principal must come down to immigration and the pricipal and I must cancel it together. If cannot do it, then he must graznt someone with power the attorney and do it. Being this is a lot of work and teachers are sparingly, they may refuse to do so. What can I do if if the principal refuses to come down to immigration and cancel the visa? |

| If Immigration says the school can only have one teacher on an E-2 at a time, all is not lost. In order for the school to replace you and hire a legal teacher and give them a visa, they have to release you, first. |

When this happened to me I'd gone alone to Daegu Immi since the boss said it wasn't necessary for him to be there (half an hour away from Gumi). Even though I said to him Daegu Immi said the boss MUST be there, 'together, you and your boss together'. Went back to Gumi got him to head to Daegu Immi and we got the visa cancelled, both sitting there together, like family court. Immi asked each of us, in turn, in the presence of the other, why the visa was being cancelled. High drama, you'll love it. Entertain the Immi guys their lives are listless. Bring along a LOR form and, right then and there, get the boss to fill it out that way he'll look 'magnanimous' like he's doing you a favour in front of the Immi guys.
What Oculus Orbis said works too.

Leave Korea.
Hand in your ARC - tell them you are not returning. They will cancel your visa.
Return on the next flight that is convenient for you. (depending on YOUR nationality you will either get a 90 day B1 or 6 month B2 entry stamp as a tourist).
Start the visa process over again.
While you are waiting, file a complaint with the pension office about not getting pension from your last job. (since he is being a %^&* you might as well return the favor.)

If this works then what about people who pull runners? The most posts i read about runners is that immigration will not grant them a new e2 visa until their old one expires. |
