I'm glad to see that you're probably enjoying the country. Be careful where you tread. I know you've already posted your blog on this site and all, that's cool. This sentence really surprised me, though:
Quote: |
Homosexuality is shunned here in Korea, they refuse to acknowledge it exists (which it does among a very small percentage of men apparently). I guess since it rarely exists here, Korean men are often more secure in their sexuality, and therefore not threatened by a social stigma or taboo of affection. |
Homosexuality is just as common here as it is back home. As you begin to mention, it's ignored and shunned, yes. Perhaps less homosexuals are open about it, too, but it still exists to the same degree!
Also, I've never heard of parents getting the eyelid surgery for their kids. I'm sure it happens, and don't doubt that one of your students had it. But, I can hardly call this sentence accurate:
Quote: |
...a lot of parents have their kids get eye surgery to give them bigger eyes like white people... |
I wish you the best and hope you keep writing. |
