Franklin Allen Leib: The House of Pain

John Grisham: The Last Juror (Perfect beach reading!)

Mildred Taylor: Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry (Newberry Medal Winner)

Arthur Hoffe: Something Evil

Lorenzo Carcaterra: Gangster

Orhan Pamuk: My Name is Earl (Nobel Prize Winner....I've read 3 times!)

W. Somerset Maugham: the Moon and Sixpence

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: Half of a Yellow Sun (a story of people caught up in an African independence movement and the horrors they go through).

Kiran Desai: The Inheritance of Loss (Nobel Prize Winner)

Carolyn Chute: The Beans of Egypt, Maine
