I did a search for 'social engineering' and found a video 1 hr 49 minutes in length. It seems to be from 1992, the time of the Clinton Admin., and it is teachers concerned about a new (then) program called 'Outcome Based Education' (OBE) and a (then) upcoming phase 'Transformational Outcome Based Education'. It seems that this focuses on creating, in children, conformity in attitudes, compliance, and an inability to think for themselves.
It also seems to parallel a school system which dumbs down kids. And the video states that BF Skinner and other behavior scientists, including Pavlov, were involved in designing a dumbing down program.
All I can say is that when I worked in a Korean public school for two years I sure didn't see alot of educating going on. And, regarding conformity, Korea with its communal mentality/culture is way 'ahead' no pulling of strings necessary.
If you've ever heard Korean schoolkids say to you 'we are the future' it's wonderful to see. And children are the future.
An odd, funky film from 1992. Be warned 'New World Order' is mentioned (I was surprised to notice even way back then). And, at the start, Communism and Socialism are compared to what seems the purpose of OBE and the New World Order (one world government).
Enjoy! What do you think? Possibly, if you are products of American OBE education, you have no opinion other than popular opinion. I dare you to have an opinion

P.S. I googled 'outcome based education' and it's apparently a current topic. Here is an article, more objective than the above video in that it doesn't mention 'new world order', that lists the problems with OBE. Note points 4 and 6.

Korean parents want schools that gives their children the best chance to get into the top universities.
You could have the best schools in the country that actually "TEACH" students to THINK, but if it doesn't give them the extra edge on college entrance exams, the parents are gonna take their kids elsewhere.
The problem of Korean education starts at the top. I'm willing to bet that if Korean universities change their criteria on how they accept their students, that high schools/middle/elementary schools will fall in line. |
