My routers is starting to crap out on me Linksys WRT54G. I've had it for a long time and have been happy with it until the last couple of days when I have to unplug and replugin about once an hour to keep the net working.

Any recommendations on a good wired/wifi combo router?

If you buy a D-Link router, it's pretty easy to uninstall the language pack so that you can get it working in the default English. That should simplify any troubleshooting issues if they come up.

Spend an extra few manwons and get a Gigabit router. Cheap routers bottleneck bandwidth.

pkang0202,

do you have a recommendation for a particular gigabit router?

Not sure why you quoted me.

Leonidas - If you're going to take Pkang0202's advice, make sure your computer is gigabit capable first - not all are. Second, D-Link makes gigabit routers.

I mentioned D-Link because:
    They're reputable.
I've had good experiences with their products.
I know from first-hand that the language setting is easily changed to the default English.

Also, if you're not really paying for a premium service (heck, it might not even be available in your area, or whatever), you might not benefit from the gigabit router, negating the need to get a router with that capability. Also, if your computer doesn't have a gigabit adapter, that's another expense that you might not need. Find out from your provider what your service is actually capable of.

Well I know I get the speeds because my torrents regularly come down at 5+ Mb/s

Will check on my mobo but I'm pretty sure it does.

If you can push close to 12 MB/s consistently, then I'd suggest gigabit.

Even though its a few years old, I recommend the DIR-655. I think its the best router D-Link has made (Ive tried the DIR-825 and DIR-4300 and switched back to the 655)

my cheap ass d-link ended up crashing almost constantly toward the end. I don't know if they're robust enough to handle the amount of data the Korean net can push through.
Got a Buffalo now, about 6만. Very nice improvement.

IPTime N6004. Great router. D-link are crap, but everyone buys them for the English firmware. Not worth it, IMO. The Korean menus couldn't be easier; its very intuitive.

My cheap DIR-600 has been working great. However, don't use custom firmware.

I purchased a DIR-600 and it's working fine, but I want to create a security code. The manual is in Korean and when I go to http://192.168.0.1 everything is in Korean. Does anyone know how to get around this in order create a security code?
