So. Well. I just realized that doing laundry will be difficult because my washing machine is entirely in Korean. I tried googling the make hoping I'd find an operating manual in English but no luck. Anyone able to help or point me in the direction of how I could get help?

It's a Samsung Sensor Quick Sew-dw600

I have the exact same model and I was fortunate enough to have the previous resident leave me instructions, so I will pass them along to you!

The power button is obvious. To put it on the gentle cycle (which I recommend because it doesn't take as long), turn the dial two clicks to the left. To open the door, push the button on the bottom right. To change the temperature of the water, push the button that is the third from the right. To put soap and fabric softener in, put your hand in the oval shaped slot on the left side and pull out. The fabric softener is easy to measure, but I've been using trial and error to figure out the laundry detergent. After three months here, I think I've finally got it figured out, but I don't really know how to describe it! Just use your best judgment.

If anyone here has better or more detailed instructions for this model, I would be happy to hear them as well!

I just bashed at buttons until something happened. Figured it out from there. Am I the only one that does this?

me!

except I dont bash anymore.

I press the red button then the green button and it starts. I think its the automatic mode.

I suspect that it even weighs my clothes or something in the beginning and then determines the settings from there. It chugga chuggas twice, then pings a few times, then numbers pop up on the screen. And larger loads seem to have bigger numbers...

I press on, then a buttn makes a number change and a different picture light up which is obviously the load amount, which I can decide accordingly, and then the biggest button which was 'go'.

I wasn't aware there was any reason for any other settings. Whoever invented them are fools.

It's a 2003 model without an equivalent for exports. The manual was never published in English. You just have to crack the Korean version.

I bashed in 2002 and figured out how to turn it on and shut it off and haven't bothered with any other functions since.

If you wanna fiddle then take a picture and show your coworkers to explain.

And, for the record, your problem is you don't understand Korean, not that the machine is in Korean. What did you expect? Of course it wouldn't be in English when it's made in Korea and 98% of people here are Korean. It takes hours only to learn hangeul and a few minutes of definitions given by a Korean to handle the machine like an expert, or so a couple of fellow expats have told me.

Ditto. Minus the bashing. I just pressed to see what happened. Then after that, I watched an adjumma beside me to perform the task. I think it was harder for me to find out what was laundry detergeant and what was fabric softener.

In that case... I just poured stuff in until something happened.

I still haven't gotten round to experimenting with products to find softeners. My clothes are like iron.

I've got a Samsung SEW-FA105NS. At least I think that's the model number. It doesn't have any knobs, just buttons. I asked my co-teacher to make me some labels, so I haven't had any trouble using it. Thank goodness!!!

I experimented... and some of my tops ended up becoming a bit see through. Not exactly what I wanted.

Check out this video I found on youtube:

I don't have a Samsung. I have an LG, but I figured out what "normal" wash is. This video was really helpful.
