I currently am on a Gepik contract and will be re-signing for my 2nd year term. I already know that when we COMPLETE our contract we get the following:

Paid Home leave to and from (If you re-sign)
Severance Pay equivalent to 1 month's pay
Pension (however carried over if you re-sign)
Housing Deposit

BUT

if we re-sign for another year are we to get a signing bonus of some sort? I heard we get a bonus equivalent to 1 month's pay?

I see this on various websites recruiting for GEPIK however it does not state this whatsoever in the contract.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

I'll be happy to help but you should really use renew to renew and resign to resign. Wink

if you renew your contract for another year (or sign a new/revised contract with the same school for another year

you will get

2 weeks (calendar days, not working days) of additional paid vacation
a paid for round trip ticket for a direct flight to your hometown on KAL.

you can choose not to fly home, you keep your additional vacation time and the school will deposit money equivalent to a round trip ticket to your hometown in your bank account. The timing can be tricky on this though. For e.g. if your home leave would be during summer vacation when airfares are sky high, but you don't go home at that time, you may not necessarily get the cash equivalent for a flight at that time. My school gave me the cash equivalent for a flight when my contract was over, before summer vacation, but I had informed my handler I wouldn't be flying home and wanted the money instead.

your month bonus after completion of a year you get regardless of whether you stay or go.

your appt deposit you obviously only get back when you leave

When I resigned a year ago I got my severance equal to one month's salary, airfare reimbursement for my visit home, and 10 extra vacation days for the next school year. That was all that was stated in my contract.
