Hey guys,

I have already been to Japan in the past. Just a questions, as a Canadian, can I go to Hong Kong for my Visa Run for my E2? How is it? Have you been? Thanks for your help!

I am not Canadian but I am American. I went to Hong Kong last year for my visa run. I was in the area anyways, so I thought why not. It was easy, easy. I told them I was in a rush and they were able to process my visa in a couple of hours. Plus Hong Kong is really easy to get around and the embassies are easy to find. Key word of this journey: Easy.

As long as you have already applied for an received an E2 visa previously, then you are able to obtain another one from ANY Korean Consulate outside of Korea--this includes Hong Kong. Fukuoka is a common destination simply because it is one of--if not THE--cheapest option. I have known several individuals who have obtained their visa from Hong Kong, although no Canadians; however any Korean consulate should do as long as you have had an E2 visa previously.

i did a visa run for my china visa in hk only because it is fast -one day. If I was doing a visa that took some time I would stay away from Hk as it is very expensive.

Doing a visa run for a Chinese visa and doing a visa run for a Korean visa are two completely different things.

the workers at the Korean Embassy in Hong Kong are very fast and professional. Even the security guard was very nice to me and suggested places I wait while my visa was being processed.

also compared to Japan, Hong Kong is very cheap.

I did a visa run in HK and it was very easy. Like the other posters wrote, it's easy to get around the city. I also did a visa run in Osaka, but found my experience in HK much more fun. There were a lot more things and places that interested me in HK than in Osaka.
