Hi I have a question regarding the visa process. I am a Canadian citizen who just received my visa issuance number from my recruiter and I am deciding which interview route to take. I live in Edmonton, Alberta and the closest consulate to me is in Vancouver, British Columbia.

There are 2 options it seems. Option 1 is to mail my documents in, wait till they receive them and then make an appointment for an interview, and Option 2 is to send my documents in along with a self-introductory cd which is taken in place of an interview.

What I was wondering is if anybody has had experience sending in the self-introductory cd, as opposed to mailing documents and then having to come in for an interview?

How long did this process take?
