|
|
I apologize if this question has been asked a million times over, but the search function wasn't working...
How difficult is it to teach English at businesses in Korea? I know some of the larger companies like Samsung, Hyundai, SK, LG, etc. hire English teachers to teach their staff.
Do you need to have a masters degree? TEFL certification?
I have 1 year of experience at a hagwon and a BA in Psych. Don't mean to play the superficiality card, but I'm also a blonde, blue-eyed young female, and I've been told this gives me a better chance at a job with a corporation, despite my experience. Is this true? |

Are you married to a Korean (as in have an F2)?
If no, AND you don't have a masters degree in a related field (qualify for an E7) then the chance to do it LEGALLY is effectively "0".
and slightly aside (and NOT meant as a personal attack): why would a BA in Psych and a year in a hagwan make you more desirable to teach business English than one of the thousands who are here and who have their Bachelors degrees in related fields like: a BA in business, management, B.Commerce or B. Economics and who actually know the language of business and understand what they are talking about.
Don't think a TEFL will be much here there either.
Good luck in your search.

"blonde, blue-eyed young female"
only one element missing from that description that could factor in.

Don't forget Biz law, ttompatz
OP- you may find a job as an English teacher, but given that they won't sponsor you (and the type of work you will do isn't exactly teaching English hint, hint) |
