All too common story in Korea. In my three years here, I have seen dozens of news articles about politicians messing up, the state investigating, the politician quitting etc. One killed himself, and if I remember right, one ran away. Hell I could be wrong.

So is this an example of a country in "transition"? Transition from "corrupt politics" to umm... something less corrupt?

What makes me wonder, is with so many politicians getting busted, how many more are out there getting away with it?

At least they have to be "caught," whereas in the US it just happens right out in the open!
