You can install the East Asian language files from your XP CD... then click on "view" in your internet browser, "encoding", and "Korean" |

Do you mean "Hangul" as a character set or"Hangul" as a word processor document (programs name) ...
I was told by a Korean employee of MS that there is an international version of XP which handles all (major) languages and "alphabets" but is alas not avalible at this time in Korea. |

to view hwp files you need to download and install a file from here You will then be able to open all hwp files your students send you. You can also, though I don't know why you would want to, save files in hwp format.
The viewer is not on the main page but you can download it here (.exe file) |

Thanks for that, but I can't find anything that allows you to download from that site. Am I being dumb? |

That's because it's for reading Hangul Word Processor files in Word (and saving Word files as HWP files).
Check the link in FUBAR's post and follow those ideas. |

RE: Hangul
Dual partition your drive. Set drive 2 as primary when asked. Install XP Korean. Install Hangul.
This is the least painful way to do it. XP East Asian Character Support was quite messy, revealing install errors.
Regards. |

If you have your xp cd, go to the control panel and choose regional settings and add Korean and put in your XP cd when prompted. Worked for me. |

If you have english xp, does it read korean, for example, on your start menu and programs menu?
I have done the disk thing, but still comes up with a load of strange characters on certain pages. |
