Each Itaewan bar seems to have its own character and we want different things when we go to a bar. My preference is a friendly bar staff and a place that does not have a cliquish clientele. At Scrooge, I always found it to be a bit too cliquish for my style. While saying that, I will say that they do have a friendly bar staff. Another pet peeve about bars is when it seems that many customers want to to have a pssss party. You know, where they seem to have a need to "one up everyone and act as if they are in some wild west movie. Unfortunately, I think that is common in Itaewan bars.
I like a moderately quiet place. What I mean by that is that you can carry on a conversation and be heard.
A few bars I like are:
Seoul Pub in the afternoons and early evenings. They always have friendly bar staff and it seems like more of a neighborhood bar at those times.
Sam Ryans: lovely place, friendly and great for watching sports.
Metro Bar: Sometimes loud, but very friendly and a great selection of music.
Tony's Aussie bar" Tony is cool and it has my favorite beer: Coopers.
On an nice afternoon. I love sitting outside and people watching
Maloney's : foreign owned and friendly with good beer/
That is about it. I am always open to new places, so maybe some of you can do your reviews and I can learn from that |
