I noticed the red, "e," indicating 9 special Emarts. http://emart.shinsegae.com/branch/BRStraightC.asp
Is this like a super version of Emart? Where is the most convenient Emart with easy access from subway other than Yongsan? I thought going to the one in Yongsan was a chore. |

I guess that would depend on where you live.
There's one a short walk from the Gimpo Airport (5)
There's one a short walk from Guro digital complex (2)
Cheonho (5)
Godeok (5)
Changdong (1)
Seongbuk (1)
And a mid length walk from Eungam (6)
None of these are as close to the station as the Yongsan one is, but they're not terribly long distances
I would recommend just finding the closest one to you and then find a bus that goes there, and then either taking the same bus back, or taking a taxi, if you have too much stuff.
Sure the subway is fine, and can get you anywhere you want to go, but making use of the excellent bus system makes life in Seoul so much easier.
I think, but i don't know for sure, that the everyday e-marts are actually smaller locations, more a kin to a food market. like the homeplus express. |

| Thanks. So Yongsan is the one easiest to find and get to from subway. I can't seem to figure out how to use the buses to get to other Emarts. I don't live in Seoul so I'm not really understanding the city all that well. I know I don't like to spend hours randomly walking about wondering where to shop and sleep. From past experience, randomly searching results in frustration and time wasted. |

| There is also one at Konkuk Uni (건국대학교 Line 2) in the Star City complex which is enterable from the subway station. I wouldn't say that it is any Super E-Mart. |

Cool. Is that a big store? Seems to be a long ride from Gangnam? I'm hunting for a roll of pepperoni, anything they have that I really would enjoy getting, and some good drinkable beer. Can't find pepperoni anywhere in my town despite pizza restaurants having it on hand. Well, I've got money burnin' a hole in my pocket for some real shopping. We don't have Emart and many good shopping choices anywhere near where I live so it's a special shopping trip for me. |

There are so many it depends on where you live. I know there is an EMart close to Sindorim Station. |

If you are looking for a special shopping trip, skip E-mart altogether and go to Costco. This one is probably a bit out of the way for you, but it is very close to the subway (line 7).

Many E-marts are right inside subway stations. Bucheon station too.
I heard that Bucheon E-mart is the busiest in the country. |

Now you are talking. Was lookin' at their site. Seen Yangjae has one, but can't tell the distance from Yangjae station. I'm coming from Gangnam Express bus terminal so Yangjae would be a much shorter train ride. I'm guessing Sangbong is about 1 hour each way from Gangnam? |

| Take the Blue Bus 441 or the Green Bus 20 to go to Emart/Costco in Yangjae. It takes about 20 mins (or less depending on traffic) to get there from Gangnam Station. |

I used to go to the Yangjae one when I lived in Apkujung. I had a car then and it was still a big pain in the arse. Forget about getting to that one from any subway station in reasonable fashion. |
