Just an FYI. I talked to a rep at the Immi call center (1345) and asked about 2 things:
1. If you are a Canadian who went to school in the US you can use KCUE in Korea to verify your degree or the Korean Consulate in the state you graduated from.
2. I also asked how the CBC. She informed me that it can be done by city or RCMP as long as it is from a national data base.
I was not totally convinced about number 2. She used the words "should be OK" a lot and she was not able to give me any information about my file with immi. |

Number 2 is correct. As long as it is from a National Database it is acceptable. For Canadians everything is from the National Database so a local CBC with a notary from a Korean consulate is accepted.
Number 1 is half correct. Verification through the KCUE is acceptable. However your degree copy will need an apostille from the state you graduated from and not the Korean consulate. Only Canadian documents may receive a notarization from the Korean consulate all other docs need an Apostille. |

What? CBC's have to be notarized now? If this is true, are old CBCs grandfathered? |
