I submitted my documents along with a signed contract 3 weeks ago this Monday, just wondering if its time to start panicking. The company was YBM so im thinking i will be ok but you can never be sure.
I sent by DHL and the head admin got the documents as i confirmed this via email.
But i am due to leave in approx 3 weeks and i still need to apply for the actual Visa once i get the Visa Issuance back.
Many thanks for the input.
PS . Yea the position is in Seoul itself if anyone was wondering. |

NEVER EVER USE 3rd PARTY VISA SERVICES.
What the hell?
#1 If its for a private institution how do you get around the interview?
#2 If its for a public institution you just mail it directly.
All the "service" does is complicate matters, cost you extra money, and add shipping time.
Honestly you should have been panicking the moment you decided to send it to anyone but the consulate that serves your home State or Province.
Good luck with this because by now you are probably screwed and might have to go back to the beginning if they lost all your papers.
NEVER EVER USE 3rd PARTY VISA SERVICES.
From the sounds of it you sent all your documents to the service who are just holding it until that issuance number is granted to you.
Normal process is to get the contract send it back to the Korean employer (or at least a signed digital copy depending on what they need). Then they go through the paperwork in Korea to get you confirmed and they let the consulate in your Home area know that you are ready to come in and get it applied to your passport.
To get the visa applied to your passport you return with the contract (original) and a couple other standard application forms, your passport, 45$(in the US) and a prepaid return envelope. Then you do an interview which is mostly a formality and get the passport with visa applied back in 1-4 days (+the shipping time).
Again I would have started panicking when you decided to send everything to some fly-by-night ripoff agency who preys on the lazy and ill-informed.
Get your crap back ASAP even if you have to pay shipping.
NEVER EVER USE 3rd PARTY VISA SERVICES. |

I don't think the OP did use a 3rd Party Visa Service (whatever that is). The documents were were confirmed as received by YBM and submitted by them as part of their visa sponsorship application.
Normally the processing time is between 5 and 10 business days, so three weeks is a bit much. I would check with your contact at YBM, either an academic supervisor if its a school for adult learners (ELS/E4U/English 1 to 1, Premier) or the HR manager if its the children's division (ECC / PINE / YIA). |

Ahh, I assumed YBM was a 3rd party visa service. There was one with a very simmilar Y** someone had touble with a while back.
Probably jumped the gun, but still, never use them.
Yeah 3 weeks is a while to wait for the school. |

No i sent it directly to the school/company YBM.
They received it on Tuesday 17th August, so its just about 10 business days, it wont exactly be 3 weeks until coming tuesday but i should be getting it anyday now im guessing.
I emailed at the end of august and was told I will have it Early september and "not to worry as your start date is late september".
Maybe im just worried for the worst after reading alot of horror stories on here,
Many Thanks
