I am sitting in the movie theater parking lot in my hometown. It is 1:12am, I woke up 30 minutes ago and went out for some smokes. The second stoplight to the drug store was blinking red (not yellow) and I went right through it and saw a cop. I stopped and he asked for my insurance card. He wrote me a ticket for "driving without insurance." I can change the court date, but I don't think I should because it might draw attention from the FBI. -August 12...

I sent a request for a FBI CBC about 6 weeks ago. I will expect a clean CBC to show up in the mail on exactly August 15. Will this completely ruin my chances? I sent the FBI CBC request on July 5, and am expecting to send for the Apostille Aug 16 and it returning on September 20.

Am I doomed to live in Liberty, Missouri forever?

Driving tickets are not a concern for Korean immigration.

They only care about criminal offenses.

Is this a serious question?

It's a CRIMINAL background check, not a regulatory (ticketing) offense check.

WOW, amazing.........

I'm speaking from an Illinois perspective but I cannot imagine it would be much different for Missouri. All traffic tickets come with a court date in case you want to contest the ticket. Usually, if it is a minor offense, just pleading guilty and paying the ticket can be done ahead of time and no court appearance is needed.

Also, if you have insurance but just didn't have your card with you, you might be able to bring your proof of insurance into the courthouse before the court date and get your ticket dismissed. Again, I know this can be done in Illinois but am not sure about Missouri but I can't imagine why it would be different.

If you don't have insurance, than your S.O.L. and you will most likely have to go to court.

Either way, it shouldn't affect your CBC because the FBI doesn't care about minor traffic violations and the city/state most likely would not bother reporting it to the FBI. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

That's only if you want to contest the ticket.

Pay the ticket and put it behind you.

I don't know. Driving without insurance is often considered to be a more serious traffic offense (like DUI) and is a misdemeanor in many states.

You must have a college degree to teach in Korea.

OP- it won't affect your cbc; just pay the ticket and don't contest it.

In the future though, don't drive without insurance!!
