Just got home from work. Supervisor heard me saying that I thought it was rediculous that we had to work tomorrow.

So she ran to the owner and told him, after my last class, I was dragged into the office and told that if I didnt write a letter of apololgy to the owner and give it to him tomorrow, for my "bad behavior" as they said...

I would be fire tomorrow for said "bad behavior"

Ummmm WTF is going on here?

I only have 8 weeks left on this contract from hell.

No one ever ever ever sign with a school called Kim Jongno in sillim dong

Eight weeks left to go and they're asking you to write a letter apologizing for your "bad attitude"? Careful. Anything you put into writing could easily be used against you ... say when you're down to your last couple of weeks and they decide it's cheaper to fire you than to pay airfare and severance. Yeah, you could appeal to the labor board, but they would have "written proof" that you were a "bad" teacher.

Maybe I've been reading too many hagwon horror stories lately, but this one seems to have "set-up" written all over it. Sad

damn expensive plane. you going first class?

write the letter.. if it is your first warning make sure that you also include that too... make a formal apology to him and explain that you will do whatever he asks in the next 9-10 weeks..
your contract expires on the 24th or 26th right? not 8 weeks as you just said.. this way you may be completely safe. or do things half heartedly and have a better chance of falling down

be sincere with your apology... include that this was my first warning in your letter and that you will rectify any problems immediately..

basically... lick his ass...

it is not a guarentee but it is probably your best shot..

also.. maybe just go in with the letter in your pocket and ask for a bit of his time to talk about the problem... if you lick ass well enough you might not have to hand the letter over at all

Also note the specific situation in your letter. Don't just write a generic apology for your attitude. State that you apologize for showing your irritation over being required to work on a national holiday. Makes it a little harder for him to use it against you if you "inadvertantly" note that your "bad attitude" was the result of his doing something unkosher.
