|
|
Hello everybody. I have been offered a job at ECC Bokhyun in Daegu. I start on the 22nd November. Is there anybody on here with any information regarding this school or better still any current or former teachers from this school.
I basically want to know whether or not it's a good school to work for and if they generally treat their teachers well.
If you could give me any information regarding the below issues I would be very grateful:
1. Do they stick to the contracted hours?
2. Pay on time?
3. Offer good accommodation?
4. Generally treat their staff well?
5. Any other possible useful info.
Thanks guys.

I've never personally worked there, but have a few friends who have and know their current teachers (I live about a block away). While I don't really know specifics, those guys have never had any major complaints and seemed pretty happy there. However, they do work Saturdays, but it might just be every other week. I'll see if I can get more info. |

The key with YBM ECC's is to find out if it is a franchised branch or a company-owned branch.
I think in this case of your branch it is a franchise - so they are less well regulated and operate more arbitarily (I worked for a company-owned branch some years ago).
There are a lot of threads on YBM ECC's in general if you do a search. |

Yeah, that's correct, every other Saturday which I don't particularly mind. Thanks for your help. Any more would be greatly appreciated. |

ASK THEM for contact information of 1 or 2 of the current teachers.
(if they are unwilling to give contact info for a current teacher then decline the offer out of policy).
Ask those teachers for contact info for a 3rd teacher.
Ask that teacher for information.
This way the boss doesn't know who to rag on if you decline the position and they have less incentive to be vague about the answers. |

I'll just PM him the links to some of the current/former teachers' Facebook pages, and the school can be in the dark about it. |

I work at one (franchise) and we have loads of people in the area trying to get a place in our school even though the positions won't be there for 6 months.
My school is excellent, best one around. |
