Does anyone know anything about this area? What is there to do here? Where is the nearest subway station.

My boss is moving me there this Saturday from my current location. Right now I live and work in Mokdong, so I am unfimiliar with the area. I would appreciate any information.

No clue where Hwagok 3-dong is, but I know Hwagok station. I used to live near Balsan, but now I live in Mok-dong. It's a good area. Yellow Pub is right there by the station which is cheap and good, and there is a foreigner bar a few blocks away from that station called Madigans. They have a facebook group. They have a pretty regular crowd and do fun stuff like cook-outs on the roof and such. Otherwise, it's pretty close to Mok-dong, so you can just hop on the subway.

I lived around that area for 2 years and I can honestly say I never found a single decent Korean restraunt except for a Dak Galbi place behind Gangseo gu office. Nearly every place I went to was way overpriced, and the food just plain not good. I know a few of Korean guys who say the same thing. I'm sort of glad I don't live there anymore.

I have been to Madigans. It all right. The workers speak English and the food is good. The foreign crowd there is ok too. Friendly atmosphere, darts, pool and so forth.

I found a lot that were good. And the sushi man by gangseo gu office is amazing!! He has a little place in an ally. The bar is the center and he prepares everything right there. He's great, many many times he gave us service. I've been wanting to visit him since I've been back.

Perhaps it was just consistent bad luck on my part. I never tried the place you mentioned.
