Is there any documents in particular(with exception to the obvious ones such pass passport, visa, photocopies of passport/visa and flight documents) that I should consider packing? |

Extra copies of your degree and CRC with the apostille (but it will be too late now to worry about that).
Just your passport, birth certificate (in case you need to replace your passport) and your open mind.

Ok, no problem! I made an extra copy of the apostilled degree and CRC before I posted them off to the PoE. Just need to dig out my birth certificate then.
Thanks! |

Write down all the contact information that you might need when you arrive.
99% of the time someone will meet you at the airport as they are supposed to. That other 1% of the time there's a mess up and you get stranded at the airport. Best if you have the phone numbers of as many people as possible from your school and recruiter. If you ask at one of the info desks, someone will call your contact for you to let them know where you are.
Also, check the internet now for the address and phone number of a couple hostels in Seoul (or whatever city you're going to). Find out and write down also the nearest subway station and a little map of the area. It's only a very slight chance that you'll get stood up at the airport, but it DOES happen from time to time. Better to be prepared.
By the way, there's free wireless internet access in the arrivals area (after you exit customs/immigration). If you have a laptop, you can check your mail there.
Regarding documents, I'd suggest that you scan them and email them to yourself. Just in case you lose the paper copies. Again, not likely but it's a little effort that may pay off later. |

Make sure you know who is in the pictures of your passport! I had a friend who was grilled on the pictures in her US passport, she was asked who was on Mount Rushmore, what boat was sailing in the Ocean, according to the customs official, it was Columbus Boat, and that the cowboy was John Wayne. |
