Hi everyone I am going to apply for my first job in Korea soon (I know kind of late)

Anyway I am just waiting for my FBI background check so I can get that and my diploma Apostilled (I am in the USA)

Then I was thinking about going with YBM because it was the only reputable Hakwon I know of that is in Busan.

Does anyone know how YBM is? I know because it is a Hakwon they only give 10 vacation days, which sucks, but if that is the only bad thing I am willing to push through it.

Also I was just curious to ask everyone who works in Korea their opinion about Uni jobs. I have a masters in Marketin, TEFL certificate, and speak Korean fluently. Is it possible to find a job (preferably in Busan) to teach English and/or Business classes at the Uni level?

Thanks guys for helping another newbie Very Happy

Anything is possible. We don't have a crystal ball. You need to apply to whatever job openings there are and see what is available. Contact recruiters and see what job offers they have.

Secondly, research all colleges in Busan. See if there is an English department. If you have a non-Asian look, send them a photo and letter in Korean with a description of the classes you want to teach.

Generally speaking, college students that I have seen don't study Business English unless that is their specific area of interest. I see more hagwons that hire business teachers. This doesn't mean there aren't any, but keep your options open. You might be a better candidate for a hagwon position as far as pay is concerned. If you have a master's or more, then I think university is a better path.

Good luck, get that resume out.
