Got a new computer with Windows 7. It's fine, except it has "improved" its sound routing by sending that from CDs and YouTube videos out through the front of the computer. When I had a headset plugged in, my previous version would send ALL sound through them, since I prefer, as I sometimes like to play music a bit too loud for neighbors - and get stereo headphone sound. The headset works fine, since Skype calls still are sent to it.

Is there any way I can tell Windows 7 to put all sound through my headset? Or are there any other possible solutions?

Thanks!

Not sure what your set-up is, but I just plugged a brand-new pair of plantronics in about three minutes ago, and let 7 install and everything is peachy keen. through CD in the d drive, regular music files from c/f/g, and youtube. plugged the headphone and mic jacks into the usb adapter and then into one of the front usb ports.

Only things I can suggest is to try it directly into your sound card after checking things through START---->DEVICES AND PRINTERS--->UNSPECIFIED(at least on my version of windows 7 ultimate)...the headset/mic is showing up as "C-Media USB Media Device". right-click that and left-click on "sound settings"...i see a green check under "speakers/C-Media USB Audio Device"...if i unplug the usb, it goes right back to my 7.1 shitz, sorry britz, set-up.

YES! I did the sequence above, and made the headphones "Default Device" (instead of just "Default Communications Device" (?). Now ll sounds go through my year-old Microsoft headset - as I wanted them to. Rock and roll!

Thanks so much!
