Bangtaesan in Inje, Gangwon-do, right?
First get to Dong-Seoul Bus Terminal in Gangbyeon to catch a bus to Hongcheon(홍천). There are loads of them departing every 10~20 minutes, but it's best that you take a non-stop one ('무정차') at 07:00, 09:30, 10:30, 11:20, and so forth. Stopping ones will take 2 hours to Hongcheon, non-stop one cuts it in 1.
From Hongcheon, now you need to get to Hyeon-ri (현리), for which buses depart somewhat irregularly like 07:10, 08:05, 09:30, 10:35, 11:20, etc. This will eventually put you on Route 31 to the north to Hyeon-ri, where you make the second transfer towards Jindong-ri (진동리) on Route 418 eastbound. Expect to see something like this at Hyeon-ri:
http://local.daum.net/map/index.jsp?wx=789369&wy=1239701&level=3&panoid=21000276&zoom=0&pan=118.65001007500787&tilt=13.201902529472719&poi=false&map_type=TYPE_SKYVIEW&map_hybrid=true&map_attribute=ROADVIEW&screenMode=normal
This one runs infrequently, like hourly, goes past HQ III Corp and Bangdong Elementary School (방동분교), and calls at Bangdong-kyo Bridge (방동교)/ Bangdong-Yaksu (방동약수). That's your stop. Should take about 10~15 minutes from Hyeon-ri to get here, yet you still need to walk into the mountains for a while to get to Bangtaesan Park. You might as well catch a cab from Hyeon-ri to the Park, if you can manage. |

How the heck am I gonna simplify all that.... what about this:
1. Go to Dong-Seoul Bus Terminal by 06:45 or 09:15
2. Buy a ticket for Hongcheon(홍천) and get on board the non-stop(무정차) bus by 07:00 or 09:30
3. When you arrive in Hongcheon in about an hour, rush over to the bus to Hyeon-ri(현리) - you might only have a 5-minute window
4. Get off at Hyeon-ri, catch another bus towards Jindong-ri(진동리). You might have to wait for a while.
5. Don't go all the way to Jindong-ri, but get off at Bangdong-Yaksu. On your way there, you will pass by Bangdong Elementary School which is the signal for you to get ready to jump off.
6. If you have to wait for too long at Hyeon-ri, a taxi can be an option. |
