I've read a bit on Baguio and how Koreans are going there in droves, but I have yet to understand why. I hear there's nice mountains and Los Angeles-type weather but little else.

If you want a break from the heat then Baguio is the place to be. Otherwise it isn't really that special.

Anda, Kanchanaburi, if you don't mind other tourists

... lots of the planet where you can still pretty much be the only tourist in town if that is your desire too.

Seeing Koreans at all the major tourist spots now is like back in the 90s when it was the Japanese... prior to that it was the Americans, ... each gets their turn at kicking the cat.

Seems the Koreans get more flack for rudeness and other unpleasant behavior, though.

I can remember some pretty "ugly" things said about other nationalities "tourists" being rude, crude, vulgar, etc. and ruining all the really "great" places on the planet by flooding them with their noise and vulgar behaviors.

Welcome the "new rich" on the scene.

Same, same, same. The more things change, the less they change.

Sorry if this seems racist, but I really don't want to put up with the same shit I do living in Korea by seeing them en masse bringing their idiosyncrasies and annoying cultural traits with them. I leave Korea to get away from them if possible.

Sure, it doesn't hurt me. Generally, I'm not offended but I'd rather not come across them all the same, especially in large numbers.

Some from the top drawer,

Nepal- a poor villager who might make some money off dahl baht in the mountains was asked to cook some instant ramyeon where upon the cook amazingly produced some kimchi, it was just like being in kimbap nara.

Nepal-A massive bunch of Koreans screaming and yelling at each other, and some ajoshi giving me a hideous look as I had my Korean branded jacket on.

Agra- Going to a small restaurant full of Koreans with a hanguel menu and hanguel on the walls, great, that's why I came to India

Golden Temple/Amristar-The most hideous ajumma you can imagine swearing in front of me and giving a look of pure hatred, her adult kids gave me the most shocked look

Japan-The mountain hut was invaded by Koreans who screamed and yelled in a drunken stupor till late

Angkor Wat- Full of em.

Halong Bay-A drunken Mr Kim telling me there are too many foreigners in Korea

Just to be fair, I'd avoid Kuta beach in Bali due to idiot Australians and I've had issues with people from other countries too (as well as my own) but due to the fact I live in Korea, I'm quite sensitive to the traveling Korean(s), and I'd really try not to see one on holidays if I could.

I'm sure if I had never been to Korea, it wouldn't be an issue at all, I've met some nice Koreans too (now why did that couple from Busan give me as a gift a set of acupuncture needles??)

Koreans are not the worst travelers in the world, but still highly annoying. I avoid them when on vacation. If possible.

I have met some awesome Koreans on my travels. Met a group of girls in a hostel inside a restored castle on the Rhine in Germany. Ended up drinking and flirting with them on the castle walls til quite late. Met a cool University prof from Busan in Amsterdam over breakfast at the little spot I was staying at. Talked about some of the places he was backpacking around to and we shared travel stories over a good cup of tea. Also this summer I ran into a group of University teachers from Daegu hiking the great wall. Great group of guys. Sat and had a beer with them at one of the watch towers. The only ones that have ever drove me nuts are the ones in the airport. Especially the ones with one suitcase each dedicated to Ramyeon and spam that is constantly spilling out everywhere. Seen that one more than one occasion.

Maybe you're just a magnet for Koreans because I didn't see a single one in either of those places. Hell, I saw hardly any foreigners in Amritsar.

Very Happy Yeah, I attract them like flies. Bad Karma.

Yaya, you seem to post about PI a lot. Perhaps make an account with the Lonely Planet Thorntree, you'll find everything you need to know about PI there. The search function works well indeed.
