I ran across a thread last night with a comment that EPIK has issues if you're applying to hagwons, as well. I wasn't aware that this could be a problem, and I haven't found any other threads about this (apologies, though, if it has been posted before - hitting search and still coming up with 140 pages is overwhelming).
I'm going to begin the application process next week, even though I'm still waiting on my FBI background check to come back - I want to get into the system and get the ball rolling as much as I can until the rest of my documents are in place. Actually, on that note, is that even a beneficial thing to do or should I wait until my FBI check is back?
So two questions, I guess: 1) Does EPIK have a problem with applying dually to hagwons? and 2) Is it better to wait until the FBI check is back to even contact a recruiter/apply anywhere? |

Yes, it's probably better if you have your FBI check completed before applying to places. However, if you're not going to sign with a place for a couple months, then I would say go for it.
As for applying to EPIK and hagwons at the same time, I did it when I got my job with EPIK and I never heard anything about it. They don't know if you're applying to both. I don't know how they could. In fact, I would suggest that you use as many recruiters and contact as many as you can before settling on a job you like.
Hope that helps. |
