Just got my UK Criminal record check back from my notary after having it notarized and apostilled and then I read regulations from some recruiter saying it needed to be signed by the issuing authority, in my case Disclosure Scotland.
Am I missing something here, was I supposed to ask for it to be signed? Whats the easiest way around this.. |

| You can get it signed by a solicitor, they normally charge around 5. It doesn't matter where it is signed on the document. As long as it is signed by a solicitor then the FCO will apostille it. |

this happened to me to.you have to literally send them an email and request for it to be signed by their notary !! ridiculous system i know.
so i ended up sending it back to them and they did it.
as far as your recruiter goes i don't think that is true. if it has been signed by any notary and then apostled by the FCO then that should be fine. all notary's should be equal. right?
if you are really worried that it wont be accepted then i would send it back to them get the signature for free but then you will have to pay for another apostle for the new notary.
to be honest everything is a bit up in the air at the moment and i have yet to hear from anyone who has successfully gone through this process since the regulations changed |
