I have a co-worker for whom I'm asking this question:

I work for a franchised CDI as part of the Kindergarten). We are merging the CDI school and our Kindergarten and in the process some teachers are being told that they must work at another branch (30 minutes away) or "go home", i.e. be fired. The other branch is owned by the same ajosshi that owns our branch.

What are the legalities and immigration requirements in this situation? The signed contract is for this location and my co-worker's ARC lists this branch as his address.

My co-worker will be going to immigration to sort this out, but in the mean time has anyone been in this situation?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
