Hello,

I would like to rent an apartment that is near a subway station on line 4 (somewhere south of Ichon Station). Does anyone know of a place that could help me find an apartment?

Everywhere I am looking, they are asking for 5 million key money, and I don't want to pay that.

I know people who have 2 bedroom apartments for 450,000/month with 2 million key money, so please don't tell me there is nothing available. There are places that offer what I'm looking for, but I don't know who to contact.

If anyone knows of a good company (or person) to contact about this, could you please let me know?

Thanks!

I would think your best bet would be to ask every budongsan about 300-350000 a month places with 5 mil deposits and see if they are willing to negotiate the rent up and the key money down. Don't know much about that area, but it has been my experience that basement places with one or two small bedrooms do exist at that price almost everywhere.

Or, pick up one of those free 벼룩시장 papers in that area and call people directly. Those tend to have the cheaper places. Not sure why, maybe because the budongsans aren't interested in places that cheap. Of course, you'll need the Korean skills or somebody willing to help.

Try around Isu station, lots of students there, may by easier to find. And lots of realtor offices. I think such low key money for a two bedroom will be very very difficult to find, not impossible, but very very difficult.
