It's not a bad price - 800,000 is US$690 these days. After shipping and the likelihood of getting pinged for import duty it's hardly any markup. |

if you dont like it. please pay 1500$ for a return ticket to the US, go to the apple store. buy it. pay the tax. hop on a plane for another 14 hours then come to korea. stop making useless comments and let people sell stuff for whatever they want. if he doesnt sell it, then maybe he will lower the price if he wants too...
OP, good price. keep it the way it is. good luck. dont listen to the members on this website. their intelligence isnt the reason why they are here... |

hey, stuff_for_sale, i did not mean to harm him or his business or you or anyone else who sell the stuffs here because i also buy some stuffs in this forum. do not say like that to me. i do respect you guys, okay? my question was very simple way when i wondered about the price. can you just explain in the good way? since u said that, so he spent all his 1500 or more than that for that ipad and sell it away with 50% off price for only 1 month use??? i doubt that. he's so generous to pay all the expensive price then just test it and sell to another one. |

Considering the market here in Korea, the OP picked a somewhat reasonable price.
Speaking from experience, not only is there the 599$ for buying it, there's an extra fifty for shipping it and then there's customs tax. We paid 65,000 in tax for a 16GB iPad. So check your facts first. Also when criticizing someone, don't call them "friend". It's rather passive aggressive. |

you could just buy it off ebay and have them mark it as a gift under $150...I have had at least for different shipments from Hong Kong and 2 from Thailand in the last 3 months and have not paid duty once...
If the guy is interested in the Ipad and wants to know why the OP is selling it for more money, what's wrong with that...When you are negotiating a price or inquiring on a product you can't ask why the price his the way it is? I am sure all of you pay the asking price on everything you buy on ESL Cafe/Craigslist and in the little markets of Thailand but maybe he doesn't.
Also the Ipad is used, as soon as a product is opened it seems a bit crazy to sell if for more than the retail price, whether they are available here or not. |

800,000 is not a bad price but its not a good price either. I agree with coryallan too about getting it through Ebay or even just off the apple website and having it delivered to a family member or friends house. Then have them ship it to you overseas for probably around $50 more bringing the total to about 650 which is currently equivalent to 750,000KRW NEW. So yeah, the OP does have a little markup but like coryallan said, it does seem wrong to sell something "used" for more than the retail price even if its not really available YET.
And since when did calling somebody "my friend" make a statement passive aggressive?? Im definitely sure buddy didn't mean it that way, and I'm pretty sure the OP didn't take it that way either. And I dont think Kameshiki was trying to criticize anyone but simply challenge the OP's price. Kameshiki, there's no need to be sorry for anything. No mistakes were made on your part. |

The OP's price is just fine for the Korean market, if not a bit under what others have been selling iPads for. If you were to mail order one of these, after the money conversion, the postage you'll have paid, and the customs duties (and marking this as a gift and giving it a low value won't work. Korean customs are LOOKING for these things to curb grey market sales, and know exactly what they're worth) it'll probably run you more than what the OP is charging.
I have an iPad myself and totally love it. To anybody who is considering buying this at 800,000, I say go for it. You wont' be sorry you did. |

aofgark, you forgot the customs. They will charge tax on it. They will also open the box if they think you're hiding something. (I tried it) For a $500 item (ipad) we paid another 65,000 won. With 65,000 plus 640,000 (shipping, handling and the Ipad) that comes to 715,000 for a 16GB ipad.
So don't forget to add at least 65,000 to the price for the ipad and shipping and handling.
750,000 (32GB Ipad, shipping and handling) + 65,000 (or more) = 815,000
I agree that 800,000 for a used Ipad is lame, but the fact that it's expensive to get them and that there are lots of people charging even more them. My brother in law paid more than a million for a 64GB Ipad from the US base and sad to say, he didn't pay as much as others have.
They're hard to get, people want them and so they are priced accordingly (maybe). |

wow, i didn't know the customs was that serious..and yeah forgot about good ol' tax. Point taken.. And there is demand here.. and not much supply so... yeah the price isn't too bad. But I guess you can't expect a "good" price given the circumstances. Damn Apple with their limited releasing strategy! They just screw with the good people in the world, lol.
And Jsanders..if we all had cush jobs like you, one of us would have already been had this amazing piece of technology with no concern about the price! Hope you're still living good bro! |

If you have the money and the inclination, with people going home right now during the holiday, maybe scrape some cash together and buy some ipads and then sell them online on craigslist. I don't know how easy it would be to bring back a bunch through the airport though. |
