|
|
Just got internet installed at my place. For some reason my browser is often redirected to the Qook Show homepage, and sometimes to what I assume is a login page. Except there's no login information, just 3 options and the enter or cancel button(in korean).
When the guy installed the internet I conveniently left my computer at school. So he didn't install any of their software. All I did was enter the login information in the homepage.
Anyone know how to stop this?
And a few more questions:
I read on here once as I was blathering about something I had no clue about, that KT customers have access to KT wireless spots. Is that for any customer, or is that a special package?
And the wireless, which companies control Nespot, QooknShow(olleh?), and that other common one?
Anyone know of a good wireless package for getting access to these? I can use my girlfriend's ID information to sign into Nespot sometimes, but it doesn't always work. |

As it is unpredictable, I'll wait for it to happen again and then take a screen shot.
But I think it's just the normal home page for Qook Show. |

Just guessing here, but if you've just got your internet connected, and maybe have been plugging in at different places in your apartment, or have done a recent reinstall of your OS, or haven't actually really connected successfully since the internet installation, it's asking for your login id and p/w for you to get connected correctly. Choose the internet option and then enter id and password and you'll be good to go(be careful because one of the options is qook tv as well, which you may not want)...i know because i just reinstalled my son's os here and was prompted by the same and noticed that the redirect page had changed to the qook one from the other kt login page from about 6, or so, months ago.
p.s. i think it's actually your ip provider that's redirecting you as you likely haven't really logged onto the internet, or at least their services, "correctly" even one time yet...
p.p.s. there should be no software needed to be installed. Not sure about answers to your other questions. |

K thanks for the replies
Here's the page that pops up when I first connect my internet.
http://start.qook.co.kr/index.do
It's not that big of a deal anymore, as there are no longer multiple buttons for me to click. My internet works fine as well, it's just that this page pops up uninitiated right after I plug in my internet cord. Seems like fairly unobtrusive advertising, so I guess I'll just let it be. |

Seems strange that that page is popping up though, unless it's been set to your homepage or sth. Again, I recommend hitting "internet"(upper right corner - g/f should be able to help), then u can enter login id and password. If it's a laptop being used at multiple locations, that can also be a bit of a problem(release IP, etc), but not a big deal as long as u know ur login and p/w. |

I had that problem. It somehow got set to redirect from my homepage. My homepage was gmail, so I changed my default homepage settings from http://www.gmail.com to http://mail.google.com. No more problems. |
