recently I was given a big box full of assorted computer crap and inside was a usb dongle with a large antennae on it.
I connected it to my wireless laptop hoping it would be a wireless signal booster or it could somehow be converted to do that.
it did not come with software and no software was available on the net.
it's called a unicav terrestrial dmb receiver mtm-inv-t1000 and it has a website address www.mobiletop.co.kr.
I went there and could find nothing about this.
anyone know if this or anything can be done to improve my signal? |

It's not a wireless signal booster. It's a DMB TV receiver. It can allow you to watch TV on your computer, but it won't do anything to improve your wireless connection.
If you do want to watch some TV you can download the software for it here

thanks man! I'll give it a try
will it only work in Korea?
since I can't use it as a signal booster; do you think there is a way to remove the software and turn it into a usb memory stick?
it's a very sturdy little device covered in rubber and I would hate to throw it away... |

no.. it might look like a USB memory stick, but internally it is likely very different. |
