Hi Everyone. Where is the best job so that I have plenty of time to write? Something not exceeding 25 hours a week would be best (teaching plus take-home). University teaching seems the way to go, but then there can be all that prep . . .
I'm 32 male from the US, have an MFA and 5 yrs experience teaching lit, creative wri, Buddhism, and eng comp at the comm coll level. I'm currently working on a PhD in creative writing and mostly am in need of time and some extra--$7,000 a year--to cover my tuition and fees.
Also, I've heard that China may be the better option for this.
Any thoughts? |

I can see it being extremely unappealing given your qualifications, but CDI is a cram school where you only teach 24 hours per week with minimal prep, generally from 4-10 M-T-Th-F with Wednesdays off. The schedule might be beneficial, even if the job sucked as a general rule. |

Although you'll probably have to be at the school for 40 hours a week, an EPIK job consists of 22 hours or less of actual teaching per week. You'll probably have to use an hour or two a week of that free time for class preparation, but the rest you could easily use that extra time for your own studies. |
