Anyone in Busan thinking of doing work for the Kyopo (Korean-American), that is SK Recuiting, better think twice.
Like the infamous Seoul female recruiter which works under a handful of different names (the most common being Joyce I think), this guy also works under several different names (most likely being Mitch).
If you take a part-time gig from him you are not likely to see him after the first day when he drops you off at your assignment and then he'll tell you that he does not get your e-mails, his mobile is not working and he is too busy to see you about your problems at the gig-and once the gig is ended, that the hagwon was not happy with your style anyhow and he can't give you any more gigs (not that it's a big loss).
I've heard that he generally gives a better impression of himself to those teachers who sign full-time 1-year contracts with hagwons through him, but believe me I know how much commision he gets from the hagwon boss for the teachers (a bit more than half of the teacher's salary), and he is still doing very little for you in comparison.
Recruiters in general are not a reliable lot in SK but this guy is one to look out for.

The real money is in recruiting for E2 jobs. That's why he may conduct himself better for those teachers. P/T gigs pay less commission, in addition to teachers can split at any time. P/T gigs come and go and are much more wildly volatile to maintain, on the director and recruiters part.

So from his viewpoint, he's probably thinking for less money, more potential stress and headaches, as P/T teachers sometimes only last 2-3 months on average, before the teacher finds another gig for that time slot that pays better or quits it for another reason. Then he has to find another teacher for an angry director who will be less inclined to pay the same commission rate again, if at all.

The level of service that recruiters should (emphasis on should) for E2 jobs are more detailed and protracted, as there is a much longer commitment being made between teacher and school, much more detailed process (contract, visa, salary and severance collection, airfare/visa run details), as opposed to zero process for a P/T gig(driving you there and dropping you of, is likely to be best that one could expect to get. What else would you expect anyway? You're teaching illegally.).

Don't judge a recruiter by his customer service levels of his P/T gigs, as 99% of the people that are going to read this, want to measure his service for E2 gigs, which are likely his core business.

PS. Before trying to blacklist someone on here, try to come up with something more convincing than, 'Oh, I didn't hear from the recruiter after he dropped me off at my illegal P/T job, and he mentioned that he has been difficult to get in touch with, and the director of the gig said that they have no more work for me.' That's pretty weak. Stick around and deal with other recruiters and directors, and you'll see how dodgy things can really get.

Not True

I got a part-time gig through SK recruiting in Busan. He treated me fine.

I just want to tell the chronic one that I'm not one of those dreaded "tourist visa" rejects on the hagwon scene....In the days to come you will get to know of my legal battles in the Korean courts against my E-2 sponsor and so on.....
