I'm midway thru my contract but I was requested to do a medical check by my public school. My co-teacher has to get hers done as well. This medical check is on top of the medical check I already had when I started the contract. Somewhat uneasy about having to do another check since judging by how careless staff seem to be with my info at my school, I really don't want this info out there as well. Not sure what they'll test for as well (not that that worries me). Anyone else do a second medical check at their school?

Yeah. They told me I had to get it done last year, too, but due to a scheduling error it never happened. At that point, we were all told that it would last two years, but it's been ten months and they just told all of us that we have to have it done again. I don't understand.

If the school did things properly, then you wouldn't need a second medical check.

Did you get a paper certificate indicating that you have health insurance?

Standard health and wellness check (done every 2 years) by ALL staff at a public school. It is free, painless and nothing to worry about.

If you have NHIC = yes (it is free).
If they are paying for it = yes.
If you have to pay for it, say no.

Do you know what tests it involves?

I had this done a while back, let's see what I can remember:

Was asked to fast for at least 12 hours prior to (if you can call that fasting)
standard blood test (cholesterol, salt ion levels, etc.)
urine analysis (I think is was just a basic diabetes test)
heart rate/blood pressure
bone density
body fat content
some weird metabolism test
a chest x-ray
abdomen sonogram (apparently I have a fat liver, but everything else was good)
a thyroid sonogram
visual field test
