That was some wicked rain we got here in Seoul yesterday. I was just watching the news and they said 7,000 homes were ruined by flood water. Did anyone on here have any problems? I would imagine a lot of people were stuck in a 지하방(basement apartment) by their school.

Yep, got home and the water was above my ankles. Some guy from the city hall came around today and told me that I would be compensated.

A lot of folks from this forum that are off frolicking about this holiday have yet to check in and hopefully this thread won't apply to them.

I've always been superstitious about living on ground or basement floors, even in my country.

Rains and flash floods occur much more than fire or earthquakes. At least there are lifelines here if fires do occur. Laughing Even the newer high rise apartments have escape doors to access the neighboring apartment in case of emergency.

That would be terrible to come home from vacation to find all of your stuff waterlogged and moldy.

PEIGUY- what were you doing in hongdae yesterday? Does your fianc know you are out scoping for women in hongdae while she is slaving away for the chuseok holiday?!
