Knowing some of you guys are having trouble with this whole background check, I'm going to compile some advice from what I've asked and searched and from what I've gathered on my own experiences:
-If you live nearby a state university (we're talking several thousand students), contact their campus police and request a background check for a teaching license. This is not guaranteed to work in all areas, but if it does, expect it back in a week.
-If your home district is not being hotly contested in November, contact your local congressman, sending a polite letter explaining your situation (they will have an email section on their website, too). Odds are, they have constituent services that will speak on your behalf.
-When sending it to the FBI, use Registered Mail or UPS/Fedex. That not only expedites the process, but ensures they don't lose it on their end.
-LiveScans do not really help expedite the process. So don't spend the extra money. Just go with ink-rolled fingerprints.

That's all I can think of. Anyone else want to share their experiences?

anybody know if there is a difference between a "webcheck" and submitted to FBI CBC? In my state obtaining a teaching licence requires the federal background check which i guess you can use the webcheck for? So i guess my question is will the webcheck be accepted by korean immigration/epik?

Google fbi webcheck to see what im talking about

No. You need an official document from the FBI that's been notarized and apostilled. A WebCheck won't work in this scenario.

i suppose i should elaborate a bit...apparently ohio is part of some program that can do fbi checks via its own network called "webcheck"..?(or so ive been reading) I believe seoulnate mentioned he is from ohio and i think when he referenced going to your university to get an expedited background check from the university police department this is the one that he recieved? I am thinking he is also talking about ohio state, the largest university in the country? SeoulNate if you're out there help a brother out! lol

Here is the link from the Ohio State Police Department Website.
http://dps.osu.edu/police/fingerprint/

It has "FBI Webcheck (National)" listed as a service they provide

If this is indeed a national background check, is it acceptable?
